Valentine's Day Books and Resources for Families
Stories bond us together, and shared stories are woven into the fabric of family culture. Each holiday, I have a collection of books to pull out and read together. These are some of our favorites:

We discovered this on a booklist and found a copy at our library. This is one we will definitely add to our home collection! The simple story of a family and the way they celebrate Valentine's Day is heart warming and charming.
I don't know how many years we have been reading about Mr. Hatch, but his story of the power of love never gets old! It shows what we are capable of when we know we are loved.
Told in rhyming verse, this is a child-friendly retelling of the well known "love" chapter of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13.
This picture book biography is beautifully illustrated. If you are looking for more details about the life of Saint Valentine, this is an excellent choice!
This very simple story is a great synopsis for very young children about what Valentine's Day is all about. We have the board book edition.
What a classic! Patricia Maclachlan is a particular favorite of ours. She crafts a story of deep family love and connection.
We love this resource from Brighter Day Press! I have several of her holiday guides and they are all fantastic. I also love that she includes fun themed treats that are still healthy, too. This is available both as a printed guide or digital download. Here is a description of the guide from the Brighter Day Press website:

This book is a great resource and has over 70 saints included. We've used this as a resource before for school projects, and there is a chapter about Valentine in it. This would be a great resource for years to come!
